"Resist Planned Amendment of the Constitution"

"At the beginning of his speech, the Head of State made some analysis about Bakassi, notably a commission set up to investigate the killing of Cameroonian soldiers. But Cameroonians are made to understand that it is the Cameroonian army that attacked themselves. So, much is left to be desired about the incident in Bakassi and Cameroonians expect the truth. The President also talked about the creation of schools but the infrastructure I see on the field is horrible. He equally talked about hospitals, yet, thickly populated areas in the country do not have reference hospitals. Hospitals in other parts of the country need to be well equipped as those in Yaounde. President Paul Biya also focused on the amendment of the constitution. I am calling on all Cameroonian people to stand up as one man and resist the planned amendment of the constitution. This will not be for the interest of the SDF but will be for the interest of Cameroon. With regards to the salary of civil servants, the SDF has calculated and found out that from 2004 to date, the money that has been over collected within budget is about 1 700 billion CFA francs. The SDF wants the Head of State to take the money and reinstate the salaries of civil servants in Cameroon. When the salaries must have been reinstated, then we will start talking of salary increase. The way forward is that Cameroonians should resist the constitution amendment”.
